Be Creative

We have been loving the Tie Dye trend lately! There are always so many fun, colorful combinations you can create and explore! These Tie Dye suncatchers are easy to create and would be a great gift for little ones to make for their loved ones for Valentine’s Day!

Materials needed:

Craft table ready to use! Flatten your coffee filters and have your markers ready! Also make sure to have a rubber mat down to protect the table and prevent slipping. I like to use these!

Layer two coffee filters together at a time and have your little ones randomly color on them. There is no right or wrong way to do this!

We only used red, pink and purple markers for our filters, but you could use any color combination!

Place your layered coffee filter in a tray and spoon (or drop) water on top. The colors will start to blend together! We did notice that the pink did not blend as well as the other colors.

Place your wet filters on paper towels and set aside to dry. You could also use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process (this is what we typically do)!

Lay a heart shape on top of one filter and trace with a pencil. Layer multiple filters together at one time and cut out the heart shapes.

It was a lot of fun to see how they all turned out different!

Punch a hole in the upper middle of a heart and tie a string to hang from a window! You could also string these as a banner as well! We made a few of them to give to Grandparents for Valentine’s Day! ♥
