Summertime is quickly approaching! One of the best things about summer are the fresh fruit options readily available! I don’t know about you, but there is nothing sweeter than a cold piece of fruit on a hot summer day! Fruit is also very versatile and can be made into cute displays for kids (and adults) to enjoy! I saw this idea for these cute strawberry butterflies and had to give them a try! This is also a great activity to make with kids!

Ingredients:
- Honey Maid graham crackers
- Pretzel twist
- Cream cheese
- Strawberries
- Ghiradelli GRAND chocolate chips – these are larger than standard chocolate chips
- Blueberries
We decided to make two different butterflies (one with blueberries and one with chocolate chips). You can choose whichever you prefer! They’re both equally delicious! 🙂
Directions:
Slice the strawberries into thin, flat pieces.
Break the top part off of the tiny twist pretzels.
I used this extra large cutting board to layout all of the ingredients. I also like to separate the different ingredients into these silicone muffin cups for my daughter to easily grab.
Spread the cream cheese on one graham cracker square. Place the pretzel antenna on top of the cream cheese in the upper middle of the graham cracker. Line up the chocolate chips (or blueberries) horizontally down the center. Dab a little extra cream cheese on top of the base of the pretzel antenna for for the chocolate chip to stick to the pretzel (for the head).
Place two strawberry slices on each side for the wings. Smaller strawberries work better for the wings as they tend to fit better on the graham cracker.
These were a lot of fun to make (and eat)! The blueberry option would be a perfect treat to serve for Memorial Day, July 4th or any Patriotic event! I will note that the strawberries slid around a little on the cream cheese. Not sure how well they would hold up to transport. I think white chocolate may work better as a base as it would harden the fruit to the graham cracker making them more transportable! I would also keep these refrigerated before you’re ready to serve! They didn’t make it to the fridge in our house before they were all consumed! 🙂
