Be Creative

Spring is finally here so I wanted to put together this simple and fun sensory bin for my oldest daughter! Sensory bins are great at providing different textures and play for littles to explore! They can also be quickly made using items you already have on hand at home.

Materials needed:

Assembly:

Dye your rice by placing rice in a Ziploc bag with a few drops of acrylic paint and a few drops of hand sanitizer. Mix well and lay flat to dry.

Lay your cookie cutters in the bin.

Add your dyed rice into the letters. It helps to use a spoon for this.

Tightly fill in around your letters and the remaining space in the bin with rice.

Add your wood craft sticks (I cut them in half) and your spiky balls.

Add your pom poms around the spiky balls and any additional items to make the bin fun!

I dyed a small handful of navy beans blue to add as water droplets. My daughter really loved using the bug tongs to pick up the pom poms and drop them into the watering can (great fine motor activity)! Check out this step by step reel for a quick video tutorial and follow me along on Instagram for more ideas and let me know if you recreate this sensory bin!
