Be Creative

Peppermint bark has always been one of my favorite Holiday treats to make each year! A sweet treat that is quick and easy and requires no baking is always a win in my book! These always turn out so pretty to hand out as gifts to family, friends, teachers and co-workers as well! They would also be cute to make after Christmas with all of the leftover candy canes that were hanging on the tree! 😉 I usually make a large sheet pan of bark and break it into pieces. I wanted to try something a little different this year and make chocolate Holiday shapes! You will be surprised at how easy this technique was!

Materials needed:

Directions:

Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.

Place your cookie cutters on the wax paper.

Unwrap the Dove chocolate and place in a microwave safe bowl.

Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted.

Fill the cookie cutters 1/3 full.

Use a toothpick to smooth out the chocolate and push it into the curves.

Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Unwrap your candy canes.

Place them in a Ziploc bag.

I used a YETI cup to crush them. You can use any heavy object.

Crush to desired consistency.

Pour the crushed candy canes into a fine mesh strainer so the powder falls through.

Melt the white chocolate according to package directions. Lay out your candy canes and sprinkles so you can quickly place them on the chocolate before it hardens.

Fill the cookie cutter with white chocolate leaving a little room on top for the candy.

Place your candy canes and sprinkles on top. Finish one at a time so the chocolate doesn’t harden. You can always reheat the chocolate throughout the process if it starts to get too thick.

Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Push from underneath the cutter to loosen the chocolate on the bottom first.

Then gently push from the top all the way through.

The completed bark!

These would be really pretty to display for New Years as well in star shapes with gold sprinkles! I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday! ♥
