With crafting comes a lot of craft supplies! Ambrey is at an age where she loves to make crafts and explore with crayons, paint, pom poms and glitter! One of the main challenges was keeping everything organized and accessible when she wanted to do another craft. If you’re like me, storage is very important! With our growing family, we have maxed out all of the closet storage space and needed a different solution to help keep all of the craft supplies together without taking up too much room!
It was also important to keep supplies in containers with lids to prevent little ones from accidentally getting into them and swallowing small objects. We are definitely trying to be mindful with having both a three year old and a seven month old and the different stages of activities involved. Listed below are a few ways I have organized a lot of our materials safely!

I found this Photo Box Storage Case on Amazon. It contains 16 4 x 6″ storage cases inside. Although I don’t use it for photos, this is a great storage solution for smaller items – see below!
In my storage case I keep: Sharpie markers, popsicle sticks, paintbrushes, tape, chalk markers, rubber bands, clothespins, paperclips, cards and more! It definitely holds A LOT of different items, especially smaller items that tend to get lost. I also like that it’s all conveniently in one place!
These plastic gallon jars with lids are perfect for storing and separating craft supplies! The wide neck opening makes it easy to store larger items such as glue, glitter and Plah-Doh!
It’s also nice to be able to store items vertically side by side versus horizontal.
I use these 2 – quart plastic jars with lids for smaller items such as foam paintbrushes and Plah-Doh tools.
I’m going to get a few more to store ribbon and miscellaneous craft items. 🙂
I keep all of her coloring books and coloring activities in this 16 quart storage box and her washable paint and paint activities in this 6 quart storage box.
All of her learning activities and flashcards are kept in this container from Target. These are similar. Check out my post on easy flashcard organization!
We like to display Ambrey’s recent completed craft projects in the house throughout the season and then store them in this container from Target. These are a similar size.
All of the items fit great in this cabinet in our kitchen. We were able to fit more due to the containers filling vertical space. They’re also easily accessible when it’s craft time! 🙂
